BCCI says the prize money in the IPL will be half.
Mumbai: The Indian Cricket Board has taken a major decision
regarding the Indian Premier League. The board says that the expenses of
franchise teams will be cut in this season and the prize money will also be
adjusted. The BCCI said that every franchise team will have to pay Rs 50 lakh
to the state association hosting the match.
The eight franchise teams of IPL are not happy with this
decision of the board and are trying to have a meeting to find a solution soon.
Officials of the teams say that the BCCI did not tell us anything about this
decision.
The winning team of IPL is given an amount of 20 crores but
after this decision it has become 10 crores. At the same time, the amount of
the runner-up team has been reduced from Rs 12 crore 50 lakh to Rs 6 crore 25
lakh. And, each of the two teams who lost in the qualifiers will get Rs 4 crore
37 lakh 50 thousand.
