Why Pink Ball for Day-Night Test Match?
Test matches are played with red ball but pink ball is used in day-night test matches. The reason for this is that in day-night test matches, natural lights have to be replaced by artificial lights. In Floodlight, it is difficult for the batsmen to see the red ball while the pink ball is easily seen. This is the reason why pink balls are used for day-night test matches. This is the first time a pink ball will be used in an international match in India.
